Elkhart, Ind. — Elkhart Brass, a global leader in firefighting equipment manufacturing headquartered in Elkhart, has been named the Champion of the 2025 “Coolest Thing Made IN Indiana” tournament with its XD Glow‑in‑the‑Dark Smooth Bore Nozzle. The award was presented on February 4 at the Indiana Chamber’s Best in Business Awards Luncheon in Indianapolis.

The statewide competition, hosted by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, highlights innovative products manufactured in Indiana through a fan‑voted, single‑elimination bracket.

Built in Elkhart, the XD Glow‑in‑the‑Dark Smooth Bore Nozzle is designed to withstand extreme heat, impact and stress on the fireground. Its integrated glow‑in‑the‑dark components help firefighters quickly locate and orient critical equipment in zero‑visibility conditions, improving safety when seconds matter.

“Elkhart is a manufacturing heavy region, and we’re proud to be a part of that. This is a lifesaving piece of equipment. It could make or break an incident for a fire department. In addition to that, it’s now the Coolest Thing Made IN Indiana. To win this contest against a lot of great competition is a true honor, and something we’re not taking lightly.” said Chris Martin, Vice President of Marketing for Elkhart Brass.

Founded in 1902, Elkhart Brass manufactures more than 2,000 firefighting and fire protection products used by fire departments and industrial responders across the country and around the world. More information about the tournament can be found here:
